Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Purpose Statement:Recovery in Motion is a dedicated team of motivated individuals who work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide effective substance use disorder treatment services.

Key Result Areas:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide individual therapy, group therapy, casemanagement, crisis intervention that addresses the goalsestablishedon thetreatment plan

• Document services provided in a weekly note, individual note, and/or information note. Documentation will be completed according to Recovery in Motionpolicesand procedures and standardsestablishedby governing bodies

• Document case activity notes andimportant information

• Develop comprehensive treatment plansthat meet the individual needs of the client. Treatment plans will be completedin accordance withRecovery in Motionpolicesand proceduresand standardsestablishedby governing bodies

• Complete anddocumentassessmentsin accordance withRecovery in Motionpolicesand proceduresand standardsestablishedby governing bodies

• Participatein weekly case staffingmeetings and supervision meetings

• Provide court, Department of Corrections, and other referral sources with progress reportsas requested

• Work cooperatively with outside agencies

• Discharge dutiesin accordance withcontracts, licensure standards, and Recovery in Motionspoliciesandprocedures

• Exhibits knowledge of core competenciesin relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuingeducation and implementing skills into aspects of treatment

• All other duties, as assigned

Required Skills and Experience (Minimum Requirements):

• Mustbe 18 years of age

• Must be licensed by theBoard of Behavioral Health and Therapy as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counseloror have a temporary permit

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent to satisfyBBHT

• Must know and understand the implications of 245G, sections 245A.65, 626.557, and 626.5572, and chapter260E

• CPRcertificationor obtain within 30-days

• Complete a background study

• Valid drivers license

• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills

Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred):

• Familiar withMedicationforOpioid Use Disorders (MOUD)

• Motivational Interviewing Approach

• Cognitive BehavioralTherapy (CBT)

• Familiar withProcentive, Electronic Health Record System
