What You'll Be Responsible For Leading the operational and financial performance of a diverse real estate portfolio Building, developing, and holding accountable a team of property management professionals Creating and improving systems, processes, and policies that drive efficiency and consistency Developing annual operating and capital budgets and monitoring performance throughout the year Identifying opportunities to improve occupancy, revenue, resident satisfaction, and property performance Partnering with Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Asset Management teams to achieve company objectives Reviewing contracts, management agreements, financial reports, and operational metrics Ensuring properties meet company standards for appearance, maintenance, compliance, and customer service Leading the successful transition of new developments from construction to ongoing operations What Makes Someone Successful in This Role You have a strong understanding of property management, operations, and financial performance. You know how to develop leaders and build high-performing teams. You can make decisions, solve problems, and keep moving forward when challenges arise. You are equally comfortable discussing budgets and financial reports as you are walking a property and coaching a manager. You have strong communication skills and can build relationships with employees, residents, vendors, owners, and business partners. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and no two days look exactly the same. You are highly organized and understand how to turn strategy into execution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Five or more years of experience leading property management operations, preferably as a Regional Manager, Director of Property Management, Director of Real Estate, or similar leadership role Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Advanced Excel skills Experience leading multiple properties and developing management teams Professional certifications such as CPM, CAPS, CAM, ARM, or RAM are preferred Why Choose UDC?
