Job Description

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking candidates for Lower School Spanish, Middle School Spanish, and Upper School Spanish teaching positions for the 2026-2027 school year at independent schools in Houston, TX.

Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish courses for lower, middle, or upper school students.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
  • Teach Spanish language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
  • Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
  • Teaching students about Spanish culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
  • Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
  • Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.

Spanish Teacher Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish required.
  • Ability to teach Spanish courses ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
  • At least 3-5 years of previous K-12 teaching experience.
  • No teaching license or credential is required.
  • Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
  • Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.
