A medical scribe works alongside physicians to document patient visits in real time, capturing history, exams, test results, and prescriptions. Accurate records allow doctors to focus on patient care. What You’ll Do Document patient visits while working with physicians. Record patient history, examinations, and treatments. Enter information into electronic health record systems. Track and review lab and test results. Maintain HIPAA‑compliant and secure patient records. Update patient charts and keep them accurate. Coordinate document flow for physician review. Support the clinical team with lab tracking and follow‑ups. Assist in maintaining smooth clinic operations. ScribeAmerica partners with over 80 specialties nationwide and matches employees based on schedule, interests, and location. Outpatient (Doctor’s Office): Typically weekdays 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with some offices offering evening or weekend shifts. Emergency Department: 24/7 coverage for flexible shifts. Schedule Options Part‑time: 2–3 shifts per week. Full‑time: 3–4 shifts per week. Shifts usually eight hours but may vary. Daily shifts: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. or 6 p.m.–2 a.m. What You’ll Need High school diploma or equivalent. Age 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S. Proof of required vaccinations (may be required). Typing speed of 40 WPM or higher. Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Strong listening and communication skills. Flexible schedule availability. Ability to stand, sit, and use a computer for several hours. Access to a laptop for training (provided after training).
