General Information:

James Madison University Facilities Management is accepting applications for full-time evening and night shift housekeeping workers. Applicants will be contacted via phone or email as positions become available. Please note: this position is scheduled for evening/night hours; however, candidates must be available to work day shift during the first week training period.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Perform regular and special cleaning of assigned areas using manual tools and power equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and auto scrubbers.
* Understand and practice all university safety procedures, particularly as they relate to equipment operation and chemical use.
* Participate in the university's trash/recycling program.
* It is likely that staff will be moved on a regular basis, temporarily, to meet short-term business needs; such as summer cleans, special projects, shortages in other areas, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:
* Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding job duties with or without an accommodation.
* Ability to work with industrial-strength chemicals and equipment including buffers, scrubbers, and waxers.
* Ability to clean materials containing bloodborne pathogens.
* Effective time-management skills.
* Attention to detail and basic customer service aptitude.
* Positive interpersonal skills and willingness to work cooperatively in a team environment are essential.
* Some positions may require the ability to demonstrate basic proficiency in English.

Additional Considerations:
* Experience performing a variety of cleaning tasks.
