I. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Comprehensive Community Supports Worker provides person-centered rehabilitation and community-based support to adults with acquired brain injuries. Staff assist participants in developing daily living, life, and community skills to promote independence, safety, and quality of life in residential homes, participant homes, and community settings.

1. Assessment, Planning, and Support- Conduct initial assessments, goal planning, treatment plans, and crisis plans in recipients' homes and community settings. Build and maintain therapeutic rapport with recipients. Teach communication, interpersonal, and community social skills. Provide effective teaching and support for behavior management, including emotional regulation and anger management.

2. Independent Living Skills Training- Teach and assist recipients with: Budgeting and money management, Shopping and meal preparation, Basic home care (laundry, dishes, bedding, and general household tasks), Managing appointments and correspondence, understanding medications and, when required, competently teaching self-administration of medication. Assist recipients with navigating public transportation. Support recipients in making healthy decisions and avoiding risky behaviors. Serve as a positive role model in both home and community settings.


3. Communication- Communicate effectively and professionally with recipients, families, co-workers, supervisors, and community partners.

4. Teamwork- Work collaboratively as part of a team and perform all assigned duties. Actively listen, participate in team meetings, and respect the opinions, experience, and input of team members.


5. Health and Safety- Be knowledgeable of recipients' health needs, medications, side effects, and available health resources. Recognize and respond appropriately to signs and symptoms of illness.


6. Training and Meetings- Complete all required training within specified timeframes. Participate in ongoing in-service training. Prepare for, attend, and actively engage in staff meetings, performance reviews, and supervision. Accept and provide constructive feedback. Provide training, side-by-side support, and orientations for new staff in the home as assigned.

7. Documentation and Recordkeeping- Accurately document recipients' progress toward goals, attendance, daily activities, and incidents using ARCA-approved software and tracking systems. Complete all documentation by established deadlines or communicate proactively with supervisors when deadlines cannot be met.

8. Transportation- Provide transportation to recipients using an ARCA vehicle (including large vans) or an approved personal insured, enclosed vehicle. Comply with all ARCA transportation policies.

9. Abuse, Neglect, and Emergencies- Treat all individuals served with dignity, respect, and professionalism at all times. Report all suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, environmental hazards, suspicious injuries, or injuries of unknown origin in accordance with state law and ARCA policies.
II. Physical, Environmental, and Mental Demands:

The role requires the ability to perform routine physical household tasks such as walking, sitting, reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, and carrying common items like laundry baskets and grocery bags. The individual may need to provide physical guidance or assistance with mobility and daily activities, communicate effectively with people who have limited or no verbal skills, and implement behavior management and intervention strategies. Physical intervention may be necessary when aligned with MANDT and ARCA policies. The position also requires the ability to drive and travel throughout Bernalillo County, with work taking place in both home and community settings, either independently or as part of a team.

Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and have one year of relevant experience with the target population; have an Associate's Degree with a minimum of two years' experience working with the target population; or have an Associate's Degree: no experience necessary; or have a High School Diploma or Equivalent and a minimum of three years of experience working with the target population.
