6 Month Contract Position - Opportunity to go longer

Chemical Process Engineer or Process Chemist supports high-priority initiatives within a semiconductor/MEMS manufacturing environment. This role is hands-on and expected to quickly assess, stabilize, and advance critical chemical processes in a production setting.
This position plays a key role in maturing wet chemical processes to improve consistency, control, and manufacturability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and scale wet etch and liquid–solid acid/base processes used in semiconductor and MEMS manufacturing.
• Conduct and analyze Design of Experiments (DOE) to refine chemical and process parameters.
• Specify and support equipment, hardware, and controls for chemical delivery and quality monitoring systems.
• Implement and maintain sensors and controls for monitoring acid/base quality.
• Utilize SPC tools to ensure stable, reliable, and repeatable manufacturing performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, quality, and production teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor, MEMS, or high-precision chemical manufacturing.
• Hands-on expertise with wet etch, photoresist, substrate cleaning, and etch selectivity development.
• Strong background in chemical process development using acids and bases.
• Experience with SPC, DOE, and process characterization methods.
• Ability to specify, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing equipment and controls.

Education

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemical Engineering (or related discipline)
