Buy-side Technology Search Consultant - Leading Search and Research Firm This range is provided by Mondrian Alpha. Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr Overview I’m looking for a 2–4 year recruitment consultant with a proven interest in development-focused technology roles — either on the buy side (hedge funds, asset managers, etc.) or sell side (investment banks, fintechs). You don’t need to have deep market expertise in hedge funds yet, but you must be credible in front of senior engineers and hiring managers, and comfortable discussing topics like infrastructure, software engineering, and front-office platforms. What’s on offer A warm desk with 20+ live roles at any one time across clients including multistrat hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, and smaller specialist funds (many of which are actively expanding). Existing mandates with well-known names across the US — including repeat business and multiple points of contact. A strategic partner who’s heavily embedded with CTOs/heads of tech, particularly in London, and looking to replicate and scale that level of engagement in the US. Full access to our 2025 US Technology Compensation & Trends Survey, which we use to open doors and add immediate value to client conversations — it’s been a very successful marketing and BD tool. Opportunity to work with a mature, research-led model that’s closer to search than agency — longlists, market maps, full reporting packs, and compensation benchmarking are the norm. What we’re looking for 2–4 years’ recruitment experience, ideally covering tech (development, data engineering, DevOps, SRE, etc.). Exposure to financial services (buy or sell side) is preferred but not essential — more important is the ability to grasp complex roles and speak credibly to engineering leaders. Someone who’s hungry to build relationships, not just deliver CVs. BD will be a key part of the role — you’ll be supported but also expected to open doors alongside the business lead. A self-starter who’s mature, commercial, and wants to be part of a lean but high-performing team.
